City Stars

Well, we had heard that City Stars is bigger than even the Mall of America...but Rob is here to tell you it is indeed NOT quite even that big ;)

I am here to tell you - go ahead and think American! It was clean, organized, not so chaotic, everything even worked....but we had weird things...like this...
while OUTSIDE the elevator, you choose the floor you want to go to next, so if you're inside and change your mind..you have to leave..let the doors shut, press the button and wait...again!

We enjoyed a nice family day together! Thanks, Ieman for another safe relaxing ride in 104 degrees, smog and no a/c ;)

Here's some fun photos! Lastly....is us at home with JOSHUA'S NEW TURTLES!! Since his favorite books are..well, I won't tell you - see who can guess correctly! There is a girl turtle and there is a boy turtle, they are brother and sister (according to Joshua) named Jack and Annie.....where did our big reader get that idea? :)
We can tell them apart actually.

When we saw them at the store, Joshua got SO excited and said "Hey, momma, that's a perfect pet! A perfect thing to buy with my money today because even YOU aren't freaked out by turtles"

HA HA HA HA HA HA!

(I also found a swim cap for "long hair" and it's not the stretchy rubbery spandex ick....so we shall see!)

the "pyramid" is across the street from the ampitheatre for political events...it is where Anwar Sadat was assassinated...a previous president here in Egypt in the 1980's. He was assassinated because of working on peace with Israel. I did some research about him a few days ago..he was the first of any Arab nation to begin peace talks with Israel! I find him a very courageous and big-hearted man! Most of Egypt was said to have mourned his death and favoured his desire for peace. I also read that his funeral was attended by more than Princess Diana! Across the street is a memorial to President Anwar Sadat. Interesting we saw this today..with what's happening in Cairo today due to Israel's low, caniving...well, I'll keep my political anger to a mellow tone. anyway cool memorial! Can you see the guards in red? Sorta like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the US, certain routines and classifications, etc.

In the mall, I appreciated the Pharonic Decore - lotus flowers, pharoah's, oblisques, etc.

The kids loved this set of pics. Thought the ice cream chairs were cool as well as the storm trooper helmet. Josiah was geeked over Jack and Annie. We love the Treehouse books too!
